Matina Shakya, President

She has worked almost for seven years at Chilime Hydro Power Company at the drafting section. She has persued architect course at Pulchowk Engineering Collegeand completed initial course in 1996 and joined Chilime. In 2002 she gave up working at Chilime to fully concentrate on her family affaires. From 2004 to 2006 she has concentrated on interior design course at a private academy. In 2006 she founded Prerane and beame the president of it. She was born in 1977 at Bangemudha, Kathmandu. She has visited Thailand, Bangladesh and India.

Radha Rajkarnikar, Vice-President

She was born on 1959/9/5 and is a resident of Bhotahitti. She holds a Diploma in Public Education. She is involved as Vice President in Prerana and is also one of the Founder Members of Prerana. She is also working as an Assistant Engineer in Nepal Electricity Authority. She has also participated in Sahakari Mela organised in the New Year program. She has been involved in Beads Training Program, Painting Exhibition and Detoxification Program organised by Prerana. She has keen interest in social service especially for economical development of the women and to raise their status hence plans to extend such training and introduce other programs through Prerana to encourage more women to participate and be economically sound.

Umita Bajracharya, Secretary

She was born on 1984/2/16 and is the resident of Natole 20, Lalitpur. She has completed her I.Com and is currently pursuing her B.A degree in Tribhuwan University. She has worked as a Pre Primary teacher in Lovely Home Kindergarden in Jawalakhel and Xavier Public School in New Baneshwor. She has also worked as primary teacher cum Accountant in Unique Tuition Center .She has also attended different training sessions including HIV/AIDS teacher training, Earthquake risk management training and first aid training organized by Nepal Red Cross Society beside this she has also received basic computer and English language training Basic level A and B .Her interest includes traveling, training, dancing, cultural activities and doing social work. .Her interest in such social service has leaded her to become a member of Prerana.

Panna Shova Shakya, Treasurer

She was born on 1969/10/18 and is a resident of Pulchowk. She holds a B.A degree and is one of the founder members of Prerana. She is involved as treasurer in Prerana .She has keen interest on handicraft and social service. She has organised and participated in different programs with Prerana. In future, she plans to extend such training and introduce other programs through Prerana so that there is economic development of women and their status is improved .She also wishes to encourage more women to participate in such trainings and improve their living standard.

Baba Laxmi Shrestha, Executive Member

She was born in 1967/12/31 and is a resident of Jhatapole. She is also one of the founder members of Prerana and has been involved in it since its establishment in 2006. She has received training in fertilizer preparation from household garbage, teaching and childcare. She is currently involved in Child care Section of Prerana .Her interest to extend services to raise the standard of women and development of children has lead her to be involved with Prerana. In future she wishes to introduce more of trainings and such programs to develop the economic status of women.

Neera Shrestha, Executive Member

Born on 1969/11/12 she is a resident of Swotha, Patan. She is currently working as an Assistant Engineer in Nepal Electricity Authority. She is one of the founder members of Prerana and has been involved in it since its establishment in 2006. As a member she has been helping Prerana with its necessities. Her interest in social work, helping others especially women to raise their standard and develop them economically has led her to be involved in this organisation. Through Prerana she wishes to train and skill more women so that they are independent and economically sound.

Rabita Shakya, Executive Member

She was born on 1979/10/11 and is a resident of Bangemuda. She holds a BBS degree and is one of the founder members of Prerana. She has been involved in Prerana as an Executive Member since its establishment in 2006. She has been involved in many programs of Prerana like Heath Camp, Beads Training program and others. She was also one of the trainees of the bead training program. In future she wants to extend such training and other programs through Prerana so that more women are skilled, trained and educated which will help them to develop economically.

Anjali Manandhar, Executive Member

She is the resident of New Road, Kathmandu. She is interested in social service especially to work for development of women including children and old age populace. This interest of her has led her to become the member of Prerana. She works in Nepal Electricity Authority.

Sarita Tamrakar, Executive Member

She is the resident of Balaju, Kathmandu. Her interest to work for development of women ,children and old age populace and doing social service for the development of society as a whole have motivated her to become the member of the Prerana. She works in Nepal Bank.

Ambika Shreatha, Executive Member

She was born on 1974/2/22 and is resident of Mangal Bazaar. She holds an I.Com degree. She is one of the founder members of Prerana and has been involved in it since its establishment in 2006. Through this organisation she wishes to train and skill more women so as to develop them economically and raise their status. She has interest in different forms of handicraft and hence was one of the trainees in beads training program. She wishes to encourage more women to join more of such training and move forward in life.

Ramita Bajracharya, Executive Member

She was born on 1967/4/27.She is a resident of Makhan and holds a B.A Degree. Currently she is working as an agent for an insurance company (Rastriya Bima Sansthan). She has been a member of Prerana since July, 2007. She was also one of the trainees of Beads training program. She also has keen interest on other handicraft like fabric painting, sewing etc. She has also received training in these handicrafts and has trained others as well by being involved in organisation like Manjushree, WIN and SOUP. She wishes to receive more of such training and continue to train women for their economic development.

Members

Chitra Shova Tuladhar

She was born on 1958/12/5.Resident of Tindhara Kulratna Marg, currently she is working as an Assistant Engineer in Nepal Electricity Department. Her interest in Meditation leads her to be involved as second secretary in International Buddhist Meditation Center and Vishwa Shanti Bihar. She has also been involved in Meditation Program for children aged between 9-12 yrs. She has been a member of Prerana since May, 2007 and expresses hope that in future through such training, skills and knowledge provided by the organisation women will be able to raise their status and develop economically.

Purnima Shakya

She was born on 1977/1/24.She is a resident of Thapabahili and holds an I.Com degree. She has been a member of Prerana since July, 2007, serving for the development of women, children and old. She was also one of the trainee in Beads training program .She wishes to receive further training in various other subjects like beautician training, fabric painting ,sewing etc and in future train other women as well so that they can be sustained economically. Further she comments that she is interested in any form of social work that helps to improve the status of women.

Zareena Bajracharya

She was born on 1969/12/10 and currently living at Gabahal. She holds a B.A degree. She has been involved in Prerana since April, 2007 and she was also one of the trainees of Beads handicraft Training program. In future she wishes to receive more training in different fields and provide such training to other women so as to raise their economic status. She also wishes to lend hand on other social work as well that help development of women, children and the old.

Malina Maharjan

Born on 1968/3/23, she is a resident of Kirtipur .She holds a B.A degree and has interest on social work and leadership especially leading women to raise their status and fighting for women equality. She has been involved in Prerana since May, 2007 and wishes to train, skill and empower women in our country to raise their standard and develop them economically .She also hope to gain training herself so that she could train others in return.

Alisa Shakya

Born on 1984/12/13, she is a resident of Mangal Bazaar. She is currently studying in BBS, 3rd year. She has been involved in Prerana since August, 2007 .She was also a Co-ordinator of Bead Handicraft Training Program for women. In Future she says she wishes to conduct more of such training program for women to raise their status in the society and develop them economically.

Neera Rajkarnikar

She is a resident of Maru Chowk and was born in 1960/1/21 .She has been involved in Prerana since August,2007.She was also one of the trainee of beads Handicraft training program and was involved in overall management of the art exhibition organised by Prerana .In future wishes to aid Prerana in every way possible to help raise the status of women and their economic development by extending such programs and trainings and encouraging more women to participate in such programs.

Gyan Kumari Shakya

She is a resident of Okhubal and holds an I.Com degree. She has also done interior designing course. She has received training in sewing, gardening, and embroidering .She also has keen interest in Handicraft and products associated with interior designing. Currently she owns a store named "Square Interior" .She has been involved in Prerana since June, 2007 and wishes to share her knowledge with other women by training them so that they are economically feasible and developed.

Merina Shakya

She was born on March 1980 and is a resident of Nyu-Bahal, Kathmandu. She holds a Diploma in Architectural Engineering from the Institute of Engineering, BBS degree and MBS degree. Currently she is working as a Draftsperson in Shah Consult International Pvt Ltd .She has also worked as a Draftsperson in Architectural Design Associates in Baluwatar. She has also received training in "Drafting of Structural Drawings of High Rise Buildings" from Delhi/Guragaon, Hariyana, India.

Babita Joshi

She was born on 29 September 2007 and is a resident of Kwalku, Lalitpur. She holds an I.A degree in Sociology, Political Science and currently she is pursuing her B.A degree in the same subject. She has also received Secretarial Training (comprising of courses Business Correspondence, Business Travel Planning, Office Management, Human /Public Relation, Receptionist and Practical Office Routine) from the New Era Institute, Battisputali, Kathmandu.

Mira Joshi

She was born on 25/7/1958 and is a resident of Nagbahal, Patan. She holds an I.A degree from Patan Campus. She has worked with communities for social activities in remote areas. She has also been involved in women development with women's group of remote villages for poor family / lower casts. She has also worked for different sectors of forestry development it's planning, management, protection, income generation and user communities. She is also involved as member in UNWO and Ann .She has also visited many remote areas of Nepal like Dote , Dang , Jomsom , Muktinath , Gosainkunda etc. and been to many countries including India , Thailand , Japan , America, England , France , Italy , Switzerland , Australia and Austria.

Junu Pradhan

She was born on 1975/10/22 and is a resident of Kathmandu. Her interest include social service i.e. serving the nation and its people in need .She wants to help woman to raise their status in society and aid in their overall development which has leaded her hand to become a member of Prerana.

Shubha Laxmi Shakya

She was born on 1948 and is a resident of Bangemuda. She wants to help women raise their status in society and aid in their overall development which has leaded her hand to become a member of Prerana.

Sabina Shakya

She was born on 1973/4/25, in hakhabahal, Patan. She has been member of prerana since 2007.

Bimala Bojracharya

She was born on 1969/1/21, in Swoyambhu, Kathmandu. Her interests include social service i.e. serving the nation and its people in need. Through Prerana she wants to full fill her interest to serve people in need.
